6 More Things

So Beth Tagged me for this again. And she's right. I could do these all day. But this time I'll actually FOLLOW all the rules and tag 6 people after I finish.

Here's a little rules refresher:

1) Link to the person who tagged you. (Beth's link is HERE)
2) Post the rules on your blog (copy and paste 1-6).
3) Write 6 random things about yourself.
4) Tag 6 people at the end of your post and link to them.
5) Let each person know they have been tagged and leave a comment on their blog.
6) Let the tagger know when your entry is up.

Random Thing #1: I hate missing the beginning of movies. I HAAAAATE that. I mean, I don't go to the movies all that often. Maybe 2 or 3 times a year going to the theater. So when I go, I want to enjoy every last cent of my $8.25. If I miss the first 2 minutes, I feel like I am missing out on something. And lots of times they have like explanations about the history of the story, etc. I would rather sit and watch 15 minutes of the lame previews at the beginning of the movie then miss 1 minute of the actual movie. I seriously hate missing the beginning of movies.

Random Thing #2: I miss Ecuador. A LOT. And when I miss it, I usually miss Judd A LOT. Some of my best memories of Ecuador I had with her. Like when we watched this GIANT moon rise while we were on the roof of the ZL's apartment in the middle of a blackout. She was sure we would get jumped walking in that neighborhood. And the Magnum ice cream bars that basically defined our companionship. And all the ladies we taught to read. And how we would walk so close together that we would have to synchronize our feet and walk on the same foot so that our hips didn't bump each other. Those were my favorite moments from my whole mission. I wish we could go back together.

Random Thing #3: I hate things on my fingers. Especially greasy, sticky or wet things. Like eggs. If i crack an egg, and some of it is on my fingers, I have to wash my hands immediately. The funny thing is that I love to touch things. I touch EVERYTHING to a fault. People are always telling me to stop touching things, but I still do it. But then when things get on my hands, I have to clean them immediately. That's why I eat popcorn and Cheetos with a spoon. I hate the residue that is left on your fingers after multiple grabs of both popcorn and Cheetos. Basically, I do anything I can to keep my hands as clean as possible. Until i touch something unasked, that is.

Random Thing #4: I love infomercials. However the new trend in infomercials is that they shout at us. You know, it all started with the Oxy Clean guy. Screaming at me about how it gets out stains in things even as delicate as lace. But now that guy as started purveying everything from steaming machines to plastic storage lids. But the shouting still remains. Does he think that the volume button on my remote is broken? Because I promise, if i am intrigued by a food dehydrator, then I will pick up the remote and turn it up.

And on a related note, what is with the guy in the "Sham-WOW" commercial? What is with the microphone he wears? Are you kidding me? In their crappy infomercial production crew, can they not afford a boom man? I mean, you can mic him under his shirt, or on the table. The head set is SO NOT NECESSARY. Maybe he feels like he "can't perform" without it. Clearly he's used to doing this little show on the carnival circuit. You know, cause he tells the camera guy to "follow him" he's used to telling the carnies and hot dog frier's to do the same. But still, what's with the headset? I don't know. But it looks ridiculous in the commercial. But I can't turn away. It's like a dear in headlights thing I got going on whenever I see it.

If you don't know what I'm talking about. Here it is.

Random Thing #5: I got Julie a "sex book" for her shower. (she asked for "naughty" gifts!!) I told her she couldn't open it till she gets married. Because it's inappropriate before then, right? Well, the pictures are like "sketch" drawings so they aren't real photo pictures. But still, they are quite disturbing to anyone who isn't married. Actually, they were pretty disturbing for Marcelo and I. And hilarious. We laughed for hours over the names of some of them. The "Tornado" the "Bird in a Cage" and the "Peephole". Actually, I don't think that last one was real. But the others are. Is seems pretty crass when you really think about it, but don't really think about it, ok? Just laugh about the hilarity of those names. And I got lots more if you want it. Which you probably don't.

Random Thing #6: I wish that I had dated more in college so I could have wild and crazy stories to share. I think Judd and Reagan are holding back on me when it comes to wild and crazy stories. I mean, I know about some of their stories, but I want more!! I have to live vicariously through you! Please tell me more stories. And if any of you have wild and crazy stories, please leave them in my comments section. Feel free to make them anonymous if you don't want everyone to know your misdeeds.

And now I tag. . .
1. Judd. I know that she doesn't have a blog. So she can just post her 6 things in my bog comments!! or she can email them to me and I'll post them where everyone can see them. Or not see them. You know, whatever.
2. Haley. My new BFF (Email style. Not Paris Hilton Style). Anyone loved by Judd is immediately loved by me.
3. Kim. Or did you already do this? Oh well. Please again!
4. Lisa. I want more posts from you!!
5. MT. you know, 6 BORING things
6. Georgia. You Rock!

Thanks Best-ies!!

Thanks for all your comments Ali. I guess at the pool everyone called you Alicia. Which do you prefer? Thanks for the tag as well. I finally finished. Enjoy

Whoa, you're fast!
That's sweet. Chris' family is all about nicknames. He rarely calls me Kim unless he's upset about something.

I guess I should have clarified what the book is about. If you click on the picture, you can see a little more clearly. It's a mole with a turd on his head. The book is about him trying to find out who pooped on him. He interrogates many different animals. They all deny it and prove it by showing him their various poop. In the end, two flies help him solve the mystery. To get revenge, he poops on the head of the unsuspecting guilty one.
I think I went through this "potty and poopie books are funny!" soon after my son was born. I'm over it.

I’m so honored to be tagged! Alright, here goes nothing.
6 Random Things About Hillary (Judd)

1. I make up dance routines in my head. I am a horrific dancer, so I never dance, but when the rhythm gets me, I will make up a routine to an entire song, right there in my head. And my routines are awesome. So I Think I Can Dance.

2. I only read historical biographies. I do not read fiction. I have made 2 exceptions: Harry Potter 6 & 7.

3. I do not watch movies which have a leading male who I find extremely attractive (like James Franco in Tristan and Isolde). I think it’s disrespectful to my husband.

4. I have a germ OCD. I’m a hand-washer. I bring my own sheets and towels to hotels. I have thrown away perfectly good shoes after stepping on a mysterious red splotch on the sidewalk.

5. I’m a toilet paper buncher, not a folder. Bing and I had this conversation in the mission. She is a folder.

6. My thumbs look like big-toes. I was on a bus in Ecuador and sat by a man who had my same thumbs! It was a red-letter day for ol’ Hermana Judd. At a youth conference dance once, a boy and I were dancing (you know, in that one hand up fashion) and he actually did a double-take at my thumbs and started laughing. He was promptly left on the dance floor. A boyfriend of mine in high school deduced that I did not suck my thumbs as a child because I was afraid of them. While I’ve come to terms with my toe-thumbs, I do not give the “thumbs-up” ever under any circumstances.

That was fun! I had a lot of weird things to sift through. I love you Bingaling and I miss you. Oh, the good times we’ve had. I heard a quote once that goes a little something like this: “There is no normal, only the same kind of weird.” I’m glad we’re the same kind of weird.

I'll be responding to the tag later (I had to post updated pictures of my little monster, I mean, nephew).
By the way, I was back reading your blog (yes, I used pretty much a whole day at work) and would like to say how excited I am about you recomending the movie "Drop Dead Georgous." I am a closet Sarah Rose American Teen Princess wannabe. My favorite line is:
"Prettest, best damn tapper, most smartest."

"Most smartest? Get a look at that most smartest, yeah your real educated. Most smartest."

Hilarious! I "let" Nate watch it with me once, bad idea. He doesn't appreciate white trash art, not like we do...

Reggs said...

LOLOL!!! "MOST SMARTEST" is also one of my favorite lines from that genius, genius movie. "That is NOT American Teen Princess Language!"

I didn't know the part about the movies! Now I am sitting here wondering if I ever made us late to a movie and you seethed in your hatred for me.

As for the dating, you did NOT miss out. The only thing you missed was a lot of stalkers and awkward moments. Like, when you're with your husband or a good friend, silence is not a bad thing.
But it's a really BAD silence when you've just revealed that you hate Star Trek to a guy who just came back from a Trekky conference.
Seriously not missing out.

PS...Now that I know about Judd's thumb/toe situation, I'm wondering if she gave Twilight 2 thumbs up? or Four? HA HA HA HA!

Reggs said...

OK I just watched that Sham-Wow commercial.
I WANT THAT!! Did you see that stunt with the soda and the carpet patch? I am ALWAYS spilling soda on my carpet patches!! I totally need that. OH and I've been looking something to rub down my yacht with. Genius. Or should i say....WOW!

Reagan, do you think you're clever? do you think that with all your toe-thumb underhanded comments you can be considered a good Christian? do you thihk you are still worthy of your temple recommend? no, i didn't give Twilight any thumbs (or toes) up, but i have up one very special finger just for you...

hil said...

Reagan, i was totally kidding, by the way. i think you know, but you can't see my face right now, so i can't be sure that you know. so, totally kidding. you know what has two thumbs and likes a good toe-thumb joke? This guy!

Reggs said...

LOLOL!! Hils, I know you're just joshing. I could never go toe-to-toe with you. You'd try to do thumb wars with my toes.

Oh and I am NOT a good christian, remember? I didn't forward that one email, so I clearly don't believe in Jesus. I am awaiting my pig tail, like Bing has!
